Green Papaya Thalipeet

Raw papaya thalipeet is a nutritious Indian flatbread made with raw papaya and rice flour, It’s seasoned with spices, herbs, and sometimes grated coconut. The mixture is shaped into small pancakes and cooked on a griddle until crisp. It’s a delicious and healthy dish often served for breakfast or as a snack in some regions of India.

Green raw papaya is not only delicious but also offers various nutritional benefits. It’s a good source of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 3 tbsp grated raw papaya
  • 1 chopped onion
  • handful of coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 sp cumin seed
  • 1/2 sp black sesame seed
  • Punch of hing
  • How water (to knead the dough)

How to make :

  • Mix rice flour and grated raw papaya.
  • Add onion, coriander, curry leaves, cumin, sesame seeds, hing, and salt.
  • Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft dough.
  • Divide into balls, flatten into discs.
  • Cook on a skillet until both sides are golden. (add some oil)
  • Serve hot with chutney or yogurt and butter.
